Three Stacking Rings

I was again tasked by the lady for whom I made the pink Jade ring and pendant to make her a set of three stacking rings.

As with all pieces it started off with the melting of the requisite amount of sterling silver and then rolling down to an initial long piece of square rod.

Silver rolled to square

I then put it through the half curve roller so that the inner side would have a curve on it while the outside still remained square, then cut it into the lengths required.
There are 4 lengths here as I made one for testing purposes.

Ring lengths cut to size

And so the three rings started to take shape.

Rings formed and soldered

And now to the settings, I am trying to teach myself settings from fabrication to completion, not a small task as it requires an inordinate amount of research, followed by copious amounts of weeping and a great gnashing of teeth.

Still rough settings showing domed backs with stones

Still rough front of settings with stones
The settings were then soldered onto the rings, enter stage left the great weeping and gnashing of teeth, and so with a bit of perseverance the stones were set.

And so as they say in the classics.... "All's well that ends well"
